Tire dressing without the sling
How to get an even black finish that stays on the tire and not on your paint.

Sling is the black spatter along the side of the car after the first drive. It happens when there is too much product on the tire. Here is how to avoid it.
Clean first
Dressing on a dirty tire looks blotchy and does not last. Clean the wheel and tire, then let the tire dry.
Less is more
Spray a light mist. One pass around the tire is enough. You are not painting it.
Wipe it in
Use a sponge or an old cloth to spread the dressing over the sidewall. This is the step people skip, and it is the one that stops the sling.
Let it dry
Give it ten minutes before you drive. Keep it off the brake disc and off the paint.
